What's a Mercenary?

They are usually retired soldiers who fight again for domo gold. After long military training, they are good at armed battle using dagger-axes and tomahawks and know how to utilize armor efficiently. They are the most hard-core soldiers. The mercenaries attack with the widest hand-to-hand fighting distance. They can attack multiple enemies at the same time and use armour to fend off attacks as well.

Although they don't have extraordinary attacking powers, the drill training and heavy armor usually help them become the last survivors.

How to Become a Mercenary

You first have to become a Level 10 Citizen in order to change your Job/Class into a Mercenary. After you achieve that, head towards Tranquilton at Swan Lake Basin and talk with the "Mercenary Association Chairman" (X:373 Y:439) in order to start your path towards becoming a Mercenary. You'd have to give him about 83 domo gold and you must have at least 4 empty slots in your inventory. After giving him the domo gold (And having the empty slots available) He'll give you a Saber, Sword and Staff. You'll have to lower their durabilities to lower than 100 in order to finish the quest. Just hunt outside Tranquilton (Dairy Pupu Mamas are good to lower the items' durabilities) until all 3 weapons are below 100 durability. Return to the "Mercenary Association Chairman" after you've accomplished this and you will have finished the test. Return to Eversun's Dojo and talk to the Change Job NPC in order to change your Job into a Mercenary.

Mercenary Equipments

Mercenaries can use any of the following equipments.

-Saber
-Sword
-Spear
-Ax
-Dagger
-Heavy Armor
-Light Armor
-Shield

But they are more proficient in using Axe+Shield and Spears.

Mercenary Skills

Axe Attacks:
Skysplitting Chop - A powerful ax attack that seems to split the heavens. User is vulnerable for a short while after use.
Owl Slash - A powerful single target attack skill with low accuracy. User is vulnerable for a short while after use.
